Church Diary
We will try to get things up here well in advance, so that we all know what's going on.
There may not be all the information you would like on the diary, so just message us, email, or contact us some other way to get to the right paces at the right time!
THE ALPHA COURSEALPHA is a longer course, designed for you to be able to engage with an introduction to Christianity. It's built around food, watching video content together, and then having open and east discussions, where we can ask the questions we want to ask about what we've heard. No question out of bounds.
To see the event and/or book on to the course, hit the link here (or the picture).

Question Space
Safe space to ask big questions
Question Space is our 'keeill' room where people nosh down some great food and open up about the questions that have been bothering them.
The QS season lasts November to July and is kind of monthly, dotting about between pubs and cafes.
The first date is Friday 21 November and we are trying our The Cat With No Tail pub. Come and buy yourself a meal, and then as we eat, we talk through questions anyone has.
Importantly - if cost is an issue, let us know and we will help.
To come - find 'Question Space' on our church communities page, and then add yourself to the WhatsApp group. Alternatively, just message Rev Alex on 07624 428053..
2025-2026 Christmas and New Year Menu
Here's all the stuff happening for Christmas and New Year with Pioneer, St. Ninian's and Sunday@10 (The Cat Pub).

Family Movie Nights
Yes that's right - three fantastic movies to get you all in the mood for Christmas, bring out some of the Christmas message, and have time together as families and friends.
These are in the Upper Room at St Ninian's Church, with the wonderful under-floor heating on. There will be some movie snacks with your ticket, and on top of that also a tuck-shop.
So, hit the link below and it'll take you to the place where you can book in for the movie you'd like. Space is limited.
Book in for Muppets Christmas Carol Here.
Book in for The Polar Express here.

A local charity fundraiser.
Who doesn't like carols ... and who doesn't like chips!?
So SUMT (local children and youth work charity) have cunningly combined the two for their fundraiser. Grab yourself some tickets and book yourself in to this brilliant event.
There will be singing.
There will be a re-telling of the Christmas Story.
But most importantly, there will be chips.

Experience the Nativity like never before.
Yes - this year we are taking small numbers through multiple sets, meeting actors who will talk you through what it felt like for the main characters in the Christmas Story (the Nativity).
Meet Mary, Joseph, Shepherds, Wise Men, and others as you are escourted by your own personal angels from set to set! An unmissable experience, and all for free!

Christingle Service
A Christingle service is a beautiful service for families and friends of all ages and backgrounds. We come together to sing some Christmas Carols, and we make a Christingle.
There's an orange to represent the world.
There's a red ribbon to show Jesus forgiveness to everyone.
There's sweets to represent God's 'provision' for the world.
And there is a candle to represent the light of Jesus.
Always popular - you're welcome to come, and bring whoever you'd like to into the community.

Ebb & Flow: Little Christmas Eve
Last year this was a really intimite and moving event, with many of us gathering at St Ninian's Church for a candle-lit evening of music, prayer, space, reflection, and re-engagement with the Bible at this time of distraction, noise and excess.
Everyone is welcome to this informal evening.

Crib Service
Come along to this, dressed as a nativity character (yes, any ages can dress up), and together we will scratch together some kind of re-telling of the Nativity story.
Refreshments, fun and faith all combine into one slightly chaotic and very Christmas-Eve-feeling service.
If you like church to be calm and tranquil ... this may not be the service for you.

Midnight Communion
This service is a beautiful way to see in Christmas day.
We start at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve, surrounded by candles and the smells of Christmas, and we will sing Christmas music, hear the story of Christmas from the Bible, engage with an inspiring Christmas talk, and then take communion together just after the stroke of midnight.
Everyone is welcome.

Christmas Morning
St Ninian's Church will be open for a 10am service.
Simple and fun - no communion at this service, so just celebrations, carols, prayer and a short family sermon.
Come with a present you recieved, should you have one, and we will all share together as a community, in the wonder and joy of the Christmas season - making sure to place Jesus firmly at the centre of the day.

Christmas Carol Service
Pausing in the party season, to allow in the light and grace of Jesus - we will be having a Carol Service on 28th December in the evening.
It is what it says - carols, bible, talk, refreshments.
Please do invite anyone from your work place, friends or family, who you think would love to be with us.

New Year's Day 'SONRISE'
It's been our tradition now for years to all bundle down to Laxey Beach on New Year's Morning, ahead of the sun rising, for breakfast food, an inspiring talk, reflection and time for kids to play and all of us to pray with whoever we feel safe praying with.
Some people then go in for a dip!
So - if the weather is on our side we see the sun rise, and if not, we shelter together and imagine it!
8.15am start for the 8.38am first rays of 2026.
